George W. Bush and Rajawongse Clothiers on Sukhumvit Rd
Jesse and Victor Gulati, father and son, have been tailors to both President Bushes and other family members since the ’90s. In fact there have been a number of occasions when Jesse or Victor had seen their suits on television. Worn by the Bushes during meetings with world leaders. Recently George W. Bush was in Bangkok. What was one of the things he did? Order shirts from Jesse and Victor as the time he spent in Bangkok was very short.
What’s my angle? They have been my tailors since 1995 when I first came to Thailand. In fact all the suits, dress shirts and slacks I wear to work are from their shop on Sukhumvit near the Landmark Hotel. Small world indeed!

Roaming Singapore Airport – Sauber Petronas F1 car
Bangkok – Greyhound J Avenue on Thonglor
The Greyhound Cafe is like my second “kitchen” since I go over there often for dinner. The menu is huge with offerings from the four corners of the world. If you want Thai food, they have it, American, they have it. And so on. European, Japanese, Chinese. All are available. There are both indoor and outdoor sections and both are very comfortable. I am partial to the indoor seating near the front door as this area is as comfortable as my living room. Overall, the design is modern, ultracool and sophisticated. Musee d’Orsay – Paris 2007
Last summer I visited Paris. I had a lot of time to roam the city and look for those places that are special. There’s no doubt the Louvre is a great museum and it’s collection, including the Mona Lisa, is spectacular. However, I became of fan of the Musee d’Orsay, the Impressionist Museum, across the Seine and just a short distance from the Louvre. It’s collection of impressionist art is extensive. But what stands out to me is it’s atmosphere. The combination of the central arcade with its expansive and well-lit ambience and the sitting areas where one can sit back and gaze at the wonderful glass ceiling and artwork is unmatched.
I recommend that anyone who travels to Paris spend some time there. You will not be disappointed.
