Leo Laksi’s Bangkok And Back

Nothing Ventured, Nothing Gained

Maldives Holiday

with 4 comments

I’ve been fortunate to travel to the Maldives recently.  You can fly direct on Bangkok Airways to Male.  It takes about four hours flight time.

There are thousands of islands in the Maldives and in general most resorts are on their own island.  Some of the resorts are close to the airport while others may take hours by airplane or boat to get there.  The Maldives are very beautiful.   Resorts can get pricey during the high season.  The resort in the photos is about fifteen minutes from the airport by speedboat.

Once at the resort and you get into the “flow” of kicking back, the feeling of relaxation is so addicting that when it comes time to leave, you don’t want to.

  2. That’s true. There are places in Southern Thailand that are just as beautiful. Cheaper and the food is better:)

  3. I am psyched to go, but still needs more reassurance that it will be worth it! Lucky you!

  4. Hi Joy. It is a little pricey compared to other destinations in SE Asia . However you should go once. The beaches surrounding the resorts are relatively empty compared to most tourist destinations. My photo pretty much says it all. And this was high season with every room occupied.

There’s no doubt that the ambience is heavenly but I think that some of the resorts in southern Thailand, like Ko Lanta, are just as good. And for half the price or less.

And I do feel lucky. I’m also going to Koh Chang in Thailand in three months for four or five days.
