Roaming Bangkok – Great American Rib Company

If you’ve got an itch to eat American-style barbeque, this restaurant is for you.  Now I grew up in Texas and know just a little bit about BBQ.  This restaurant is a reminder of how good American BBQ can be.  Although there are regional style differences between their BBQ and Texas-style (and a difference of wood, hickory v. mesquite),  the quality of their smoked meat is second to none and I am confident enough to pronounce that I have not had better bbq in Asia. It would also give some bbq restaurants in the US a run for its money.

If you are uncertain as to what to order, consider the “Great American Barbeque Feast”.  It is comprised of ribs, pulled pork, chicken, and enough side dishes to fill any appetite.  I ordered a half feast which was recommended for 2-3 people.  Well in my book, it is enough for 3-4 people.  I ate so much I had to stop.  A take home box was necessary.

There are several outlets in Thailand.  The one I visited is located on Soi 36 between Sukhumvit and Rama IV.

Can’t miss it.  There is a large orange sign in front.  And it will be on your right if you’re coming from Sukhumvit.  It’s close to Rama IV than Sukhumvit.

  2. The food there is very good. And the portions are unbelievable. And the coleslaw and the potato salad are also good. We have to go the next time.
