Ever since the Bangkok Skytrain (BTS) went online about a decade ago it has been a big success for getting around central Bangkok. A number of the busiest stations are centered in retail areas.  The Phrom Prong Station is no different.

The Phrom Prong station is anchored by the Emporium Shopping Center and its adjacent Benjasiri Park, the only green space anywhere in the Sukhumvit area.

As the station is elevated (as are all the Skytrain stations), there is plenty to see in the area.

There are planned extensions within a decade.  And a  few years ago the Skytrain was joined by a  subway system that expanded mass transit in different directions.

The station is also home to a small number of takeaway food shops ranging from Japanese bakery goods to fruit drinks to ice cream.  There is also a magazine stand, a video shop and even women’s lingerie (really!).
