Spotted 50 meters away

Whenever I’m walking around with camera in hand, I’m always looking for detail that can serve as a launch pad for a series of photos.  With people, you can focus on many attributes, from the way they walk to their physical appearance to what they are wearing.  Don’t just take that photo.  Think about what you find interesting and focus on that.

The woman in this series of photos was a vendor at a Bangkok handicraft street market chock-full of people and things to photograph.  Spotting her from a distance,  I was mesmerized by the red hair and the gold-rimmed aviator glasses.  I didn’t spend time looking at her face and I probably couldn’t recognize her again if not for her hair.  She was very busy tending to her products, looking one way then another to straighen things out. To best capture her, I moved in close, filling the frame with red hair.

Photos taken with Nikon D700 and Nikkor DC 135mm f/2 lens.

And straighten this out

And straighten this out

What's this?

What's this?

And here.

And here.

One more.

One more.
