Size difference between "Streetwalker" and "Streetwalker Pro"

Photographers who are considering either the Think Tank Photo Streetwalker or the larger Streetwalker Pro have a hard time visualizing the size difference between the two sizes.  Well, here’s probably the only posting on the web that does show the two models together.

I’ve posted previously on the Streetwalker and Pro (with additional photographs) and recommend you go here for the Streetwalker posting and here for the Pro posting.  The two packs are identical in the number of dividers and also have the same features including attachment straps used to secure a tripod vertically on the front panel.

Although the specifications are very similar, visually there is a definite size difference.  I happen to like the smaller Streetwalker while my friend prefers the Pro size.  And our camera kits are pretty much the same although my friend likes the larger bag as she also carries a Canon Speedlite and other hardware.  I can also carry the same accessories in my smaller bag, it’s just a little tighter.

Apologies to all who want to see pristine examples of these bags.  They’re both being used on a daily basis and their appearance reflects this.  By the way, I’m been impressed with Think Tank’s exchange policy.  The Pro is a replacement for one that unraveled at a seam.  This first bag was about seven months old at the time.  The distributor replaced the bag, no questions asked.

You can visit the Think Tank Photo website by visiting one of the above hyperlinked postings and then clicking on links contained within.

Photos taken with Nikon D700 and Nikkor AFS 24-70mm f/2.8 lens.

  2. One thing to clarify, the Streetwalker (regular) will NOT hold a Pro Size DSLR. Mine just arrived and my D3 won’t fit. I spoke with ThinkTank customer service and they said that indeed I needed to get the Streetwalker Pro. Their website, however, incorrectly states that the Streetwalker holds a pro size DSLR when it doesn’t. I alerted them of this, so hopefully they will take that off. Otherwise, it seems to be a great pack, now I just need to return it and exchange it for the pro so the camera actually fits in it.

  3. Hi Leo,
Thank you very much for the comparison pics and info. – very appreciated!
One thing that confuses me is that on the ThinkTank site the shoulder straps differ between these two models, whereas your two models are identical.
I’d like to get the “Streetwalker” as it is smaller, but I need those slots(ribbon strip down the strap)in order to attach the ThinkTank “Camera Support Strap” to.
Could ThinkTank be displaying another model or an older version?
Any thoughts on that Leo would be most appreciated?
Thanks very much for all your time!
    Best Regards,
    Cathy
